straightpipes going down and coming out right in front of the rear tires or a stock muffler? i wont be doing any pulling with this, this will be strictly for screwing around in fields after they have been harvested and driving on roads. Should i leave the stock 8 inch transaxle pulley and do a 1 to 1 on the pulleys and then do my major gearing with the chain? or should i leave the sprocket larger on the axle and do my ratios on the belt? I need help on which would be better. Homemade double pulley clutch with an mtd clutch pedal, switching it to the left side(its on the right side right now)īrake setup (disc brakes on the rear axle + the caliper brakes on the transaxle) New headlights (probably seal beams like the factory, i have some of those on a shelf) Stock 8 or 12 tooth sprocket on the transaxle (cant remember) New smaller sprocket on the rear axle( 35 tooth) Stock chain config with larger chain and a tensioner sprocket Leave stock fuel tank(its only a half gallon, will be adding a secondary larger fuel tank)ħ inch pulley on the engine, 4 on the transaxle Steering and cast iron front axle out of the cub Next spring/summer, i will be tearing into the dynamark. This winter i will be pretty occupied with driving the king around in the snow, plowing snow and all that good stuff.
That leaves the dynamark as my only remaining project mower. Once all of that is done, it will be headed for the scrap yard. Somewhere along the line most of the oil has dissapeared through the engine, and as you can see the previously black oil fill cap has been bleached white.Īlright! Now that work on my ranch king is done (for now, they are never exactly finished) The cub cadet has been stripped down( for the most part, i still need to yank the fuel tank and the rear end and the front axle and steering) But none of that will take too long. smells strongly of varnish (i wonder why, its only 15 some years old) suprisingly enough, the fuel line is still in decent shape.hoping i luck out with the carb.

It even had a full tank of gas- still has the full tank, except now its some sort of brown, runny liquid. In short, it ran, it was parked after mowing the yard and never moved again.

Then the guys dads health started declining, and he eventually passed away and the guy was given a free John deere. Somebody finished mowing the lawn with it, parked it behind the shed, filled the tank with gas and flipped the seat up so whoever sat on it next didnt get their a** burned. Basically, this guys dad started having issues. Oh by the way guys i did get the full story on this mower- it was the guy's dads mower. it has a little box that the steering shaft goes into with a tierod to each tire. For steering, since the steering on this is so crappy, I have a cub cadet 1440 with a bad hydro that is hanging around for parts. as far as i know the only thing that is froze up is the shifter, but the entire thing could be locked.

Maybe mod it up with the existing manifold on the oppy and use a double barrel carb? Anyway, i have no idea on what the state of the tranny is. I am also getting a double barrel carb off of a 37hp briggs vanguard that had a poorly casted block, causing it to crack. And not sure if i mentioned this, but i have an 18.5hp Briggs oppy twin II just kinda hanging around. If im making it go fast, i want as wide a wheelbase as possible. The reason i decided against using parts from it was because the wheelbase on it is actually 2 inches shorter than the dynamarks.
I was thinking about making a separate build out of that later on, maybe put a honda gx160 on it with a comet torque converter. (i do still have the chassey, suspension, rear axles and steering. I was originally planning on taking the steering/handlebars/ rear axle out of a mini chinese 4 wheeler that was just kinda hanging out. Now that CraftsmanQuad19 put that into my head, i like the idea more and more.
